Q: How do I know if I am eligible for SEAP?
A:To be eligible for the Self-Employment Assistance Program (SEAP), you must:

Qualify for regular unemployment benefits.

Enroll in a training program that the Employment Security Department's commissioner approves.
-
Be identified as likely to run out of benefits or be eligible for Commissioner-Approved Training (CAT).
Types of Approved Training Programs Found on the ESD Website are:

Entrepreneurial training

Business counseling
-
Technical assistance
Requirements to engage in activities relating to setting up a business and becoming self-employed.
Q: How long does it take to get approved for SEAP?
A:Approval can take 1-3 weeks. You'll want to check your ESD account homepage every Wednesday to see if you have received a determination letter.
Q: What if I already have a SEAP approval letter?
A: If you have already been given a SEAP approval letter, you only need to fill out the registration form by clicking on this link. You will receive a pre-filled SEAP provider form that you can forward for processing. The SEAP provider form is necessary to let the ESD SEAP unit know which provider you selected and give the program details.
Q: What if I want to start the course without a SEAP letter?
A: You can start any approved provider course whenever you'd like; however, be aware that if you submit the SEAP provider form and it is determined by the SEAP department that you are not approved for the SEAP program, you may continue the program but will also and still be required to perform the weekly job searches.

This program provides you with updated and relevant information to start your business for today's time. Learn new techniques and gain fresh perspectives. You will also have the opportunity to build community, network with like-minded individuals, and have an expert mentor you along the way.

As a creative entrepreneur, you have a lot to offer the world, but something is preventing you from reaching the customers who are waiting for the goods and services that only you can provide. I'll work with you to increase your dedication, clarity, and certainty in realizing your business.
Q: How long are the training sessions?
A: This one-week intensive instructor-led program is geared toward individuals who are serious about becoming business owners. You must be willing to dedicate one week to 9-10 hours of training. The goal is to get your business up and running, gain new customers and clients, generate revenue, and celebrate your success within the time frame.

Payment Plan:
The payment plan divides the tuition amount into three monthly payments.
Q: When do I make my first tuition payment?
A:You will make your first tuition payment at least 2-3 days before the start of class so that you can receive your student materials and be prepared for class.
Q: What if I can't complete the course?
A:If you are unable to complete the course due to a family or medical emergency, a refund will be provided to you.
Q: What if I want to retake the course?
A:You can retake this training program/course as often as you'd like for free.
